My Deering Custom Calico arrived recently and what an amazing banjo on so many levels. I have several banjos ranging from a 10 year old Goodtime 2, to late 70s RB 100 to a 1927 Style 1 Gibson prewar conversion and even a Deering Crossfire electric. All are special in some way or another but this banjo is one I just marvel at.

The level of craftsmanship that is being done today at Deering is phenomenal. I remember feeling much the same way when I first played my GT2 and my Crossfire, just hard to describe how it makes you feel...how easy it is to fret and the sound is captivating. I've seen it first hand in the "banjo playhouse" in California, but this banjo from tone and playability, subtle notes to LOUD on stage...it's just magic. I got the custom GDL peghead overlay which really makes the Calico inlays pop I think. I LOVE this banjo...thanks Carolina, Barry, Greg and Janet. FIRST CLASS!

	roadstar75 says: 4/14/2014 10:46:16 AM Nice to read your comments about the Calico, I also bought one recently through Amazon and it is a gorgeous instrument. Since I am a beginner, it's difficult to compare with other similar level banjos but it is all the banjo I'll ever need anyway.

	Ron Billingham says: 5/1/2014 7:55:09 AM I just bought a 20 year old Calico. Mint condition in the original Blond color. I love my Golden Era but I have to say that this Calico has become my go to banjo. Now, if only I could play as good as I look with this banjo in my hands! ;)
