I am in the process of purchasing a Deering Classic Goodtime Special from another member of the BHO. It comes with the steel ring. Since I'm just a beginner, it's more banjo than I could have hoped for. I am so excited about this development. I've been waiting several months to be able to purchase a Deering.

Mainly because it's so loud that I can't sing with it so I need to stuff a rag or small towel between the coordinator rod and the head. I played with a couple of friends at a rest home gig, with resonator and unstuffed, and they made me stay back from the mikes because I was over powering their guitars (acoustic). I was just vamping along with chords. I know I have to practice a softer technique, but it demonstrates how loud they can be. Have fun and keep on pickin" ! GRIN -

	Hat Man says: 8/1/2014 9:14:38 PM I just got my Classic Special 2 weeks ago... Love it. I put the Sierra in the case and have just been enjoying the GT. I was in awe that it looked as nice as it did and how well it seemed put together. The sound is great. I bought it for my traveling banjo instead of taking my Sierra along to camping etc. I made the right decision. It's quite a few steps over the GT2 from the start...
