Some of us in the shop were looking thru the Bishline custom gallery today and picking our favorite that Rob has built over the last 10 years. Someone said "put it on
the hangout and let them pick their favorites". So here ya go...we'd love to hear which one you like best!

I think the 'Blue Wave' is my favorite. 'BanjOctopus' is right up there.
Actually, I really like all of them. The craftsmanship and artistry shines out like a beacon!

Aaaugh, BAS ignition!
I'm rather partial to the looks of those custom Midnight Moons. Very elegant.

I love the custom Claremont that's in the classifieds: banjohangout.org/classified/54025
I don't know the seller, but I love his taste in putting this together.
jlsorbit - Posted - 10/16/2015: 10:49:12
The Top Tension Tree of Life. I've always liked the tree of life finger board, but this is gorgeous and so tastefully done, not over done.
BJD - Posted - 10/16/2015: 15:50:27
I feel like Ralphie staring through the store window at a Red Rider bb gun with the narrator in the back of my mind telling Me how to get that banjo for Christmas...

Hands down, it's the one not posted. Ziricote is the most impressive and beautiful to me.
andyo - Posted - 10/17/2015: 07:29:22
Hi Charlie,
Good point, the Ziricote is part of the Bishline Limited Series.... Here's the link to include those banjos in the voting!

Hey, wait just a doggone minute, here. I didn't see my Bishline burled walnut custom 'Bluebird' banjo in the gallery!! What up with that??? I get compliments on both the beauty and tone of my banjo everywhere I go - even when I'm the one playing it!!

I really like that Walnut leaf banjo. It is simple, but elegant. Very nice.

I think the Tortise Clermont has a winning look. Of course, the Blue alabone looks fantasic. Heck I can't make of my mind.
GrizClaw - Posted - 10/17/2015: 18:24:14
I know I'm not much help because I love them all. I can't imagine how well they are all built because every time I pick up my Okie, it's quality build and simple elegance blows me away. I can't see how anyone could ever be disappointed with a Bishline banjo.
andyo - Posted - 10/18/2015: 10:24:02
Hey RCS..Glad to hear that about your Okie. BTW, Danny Barnes recorded his newest cd entirely with his Bishline Okie! The CD is called "Got myself together" and is due out later in November.

Midnight Moon!!!!!!!
Still kicking myself for not picking up a beautiful used one at Elderly's at a steal of a price.
Curse that moment of self control.
Someday.....

No doubt these are beautiful. Rob is a true artist. But, they're not just pretty faces. There's substance to all this style. They feel, play, and sound as great as they look. Just listen to Rob playing the BanjOctopus. That's one wild looking banjo, but the TONE.

The Steve Martin homage banjo is certainly my favorite - but then again, that's my banjo! From the 60-piece marquetry inlay of the banjo crow on the resonator to the abalone purfling on the resonator, neck, and headstock, the quality of this banjo is spectacular, and it sounds every bit as great as it looks!
Thanks, Andy!

Hi Andy, Wow those latest two banjos are beautiful!! Where do you guys come up with all the tasteful ideas? I purchased a beautiful Bishline Heirloom banjo( maple) last year form Acoustic Vibes in Tempe, Az. I would like a wood armrest that would match or compliment the wood finish on my Heirloom banjo. Would you be able to fashion an armrest for my Heirloom? Brian M
andyo - Posted - 11/17/2015: 07:54:25
Hi Brian, We can hook you up with a wooden armrest. Give us a call or email. Thanks!
ironhead - Posted - 11/18/2015: 15:22:12
Thanks Andy! I really love my Heirloom! I played a ton of very nice banjos at Acoustic Vibes and it was the winner in my opinion. I'll email or call soon re wooden armrest! Brian M

I couldn't resist posting a few pictures of this Custom Gold Orpheum that Rob just finished for Harland in Virginia to see what you thought about it. It has a laminted, tunneled fifth string neck, a Bishline/Barnes woody rim/ring black binding and custom engraved, gold plated hardware. See more pictures of this banjo at facebook.com/BishlineBanjos .
