Wow the Kentucky Wildcats just humiliated the #5 Kansas team on a neutral court , wining by 32 points. .I've never seen such domination over another team. looking for number 9 this year,go Cats!!!

pick it - Posted - 12/05/2014:  18:59:17

and they keep rolling  8-0 with a win over a big talented #6 Texas team 63-51

Kenneth Logsdon - Posted - 12/05/2014:  21:27:17

How did I miss this first time?... Yae... Texas wanted to play bad and rough, but the intimidation factor didn't work.. Good test for Ky... BIG thumbs up for Cali Stein.... His contribution was mostly over looked last year, but if he never scores a point, his hustle and defense is abig obstacle for the opposition!!

Dang. Thought you were talking about the Jaguars whoopin' the Giants last weekend. It was covered (buried) in the 6th paragraph, column 4, page D5 of the Sports and Reality section.

Did someone report this feline as possibly being a thread drifting cat?

Dagnabbit - Posted - 12/14/2014:  19:01:04

You know I almost posted this cat here too but I'm as disinterested in Carolina round ball as one might be. I posted it on the other thread because it is silly and Lighten up Francis had already been taken. The cat was actually my third choice but I'm saving number two for nonsensical threats of thermo nuclear war.

Kenneth Logsdon - Posted - 12/14/2014:  19:47:09

Hoo hum.... business as usual... Just watched part of the INfor mercials sports show... supposedly profiling the BIG teams this year................................... Drooled all over all the BIG 10,12, 1/2 etcs leagues...... and barely mentioned the SEC in passing and the cats not at all... Notice Dick Vitalas, has not done any of the National tv games...and followed protocol on the others? Another year of explaining off games for the opposing teams each time they play KY? I'm still pissed about the football discussion and little about the basketball game most of the second half last year in one of the Ncaa tourney games..

Thats right Ken, but I did hear Vital say UK" could run the table"I meat him in Louisville several years ago, he is a Big Blue fan. this day in time running the table is nearly impossible as proved last year when we beat that team in Kansas , but even considering they drop a couple the fact is no team dominates like they do

Some jerk dropped more cats off in the sticks and I've got another one enjoying the heat of the garage.  I don't even like cats.

Kentucky  up 41-7 at halftime over UCLA , no team in College has ever been this dominating

Kenneth Logsdon - Posted - 12/20/2014:  15:38:45

yesbig... somebody's gonna haf to run laps....They got 42 points...  Tisk, Tisk defensive breakdown in the second half!!

(actually it can be overwhelming, when a team from the gentlemen's leagues runs into The SEC's defenses)

Not so fast my friend - surely you jest!  You must be forgetting the UCLA teams of Lew Alcindor that won three straight NCAA championships in the nid 60's and went 88-2. Later in the early 70's, Bill Walton played on UCLA teams that established an 88 game winning streak, two 30 - 0 seasons (one where their average winning margin was 30 points) and two or three more championships!  That's domination!

pick it - Posted - 12/20/2014:  16:58:11

and of course that couldn't happen now days because parity . for one thing the NCAA watches the boosters more closely, unlike Papa Sam and the bruins  . I still say I haven't seen a team dominate like Ky. this year.also kids go pro early

Not a louieville fan... but you've gotta give them credit.. bang up effort.. They didn't quit until the five min mark..

a g cole - Posted - 12/28/2014:  15:11:28

You guys are correct.  If the cats continue to win with the huge lopsided margins, they will prove to be a more dominant team than even any of the UCLA teams of the Wooden era.

banjoman56 - Posted - 12/28/2014:  20:23:40

I've been a cat fan since I was old enough to know what a Basketball was, and this years team may be the best all around team I've seen at Kentucky. Their defense is unreal. If the offense continues to improve, (especially the 3 point shooting), they may be the best college team ever IMO.

pick it - Posted - 01/24/2015:  12:31:58

And on to 19-0 with a dominating win over South Carolina, by a margin of 15 points, the defense was suffocating through out the game.

8thpol - Posted - 01/24/2015:  13:17:05

They have a heck of a team.......but so did UNLV in 91 some would claim that is the best team ever playerwise . UCLA was dominate 7 Championships in a row 10 in 12 years that's dominance.

some may claim that, a lot of red flags comes up in UCLAs run. Dick Vitale said UK was  the best Defense in his 36 years with ESPN.anyway I'm interested in here and now,OBTW you might want to check on how many first rounders went from the UNLV class I believe it was 3, Uk has beat that more than once.

If UK's offense ever catches up to it's defense, some professional organization might just want to purchase the whole team. If they progress at the rate that most of Cal's teams to, they are going to be downright nasty by tourney time!

pick it - Posted - 03/06/2015:  11:26:46

The Cats can end the regular season undefeated with a win at home against Florida ,UK favored by 10.5. I say 18 points

banjoman56 - Posted - 03/06/2015:  13:07:25

Here's hoping for 40-0!

..."that team in kansas"... Come on how about some respect, eh. Wichita state university was in final 4 the previous year. Still have the longest run of wins ever (until you change that perhaps). go SHOCKS!

no disrespect here, but how many teams in the top 20  have they beat. to be a big time power they need to play ranked  teams that is where respect comes from.

31-0 perfect regular season.

Kenneth Logsdon - Posted - 03/08/2015:  13:08:06

At the beginning of the seasons one of the well known coaches said that Ky was no. 1 and no. 2 ranked, two teams .. Turned out to be a very profound statement... If one can't win the other can, hard on the opposition to play two guys just as good or better in each position. Now I'm getting nervous??

banjoman56 - Posted - 03/08/2015:  18:20:40

Ken, I think their A team should have to play their B squad for the NCAA Championship! :)

Just watched a repeat of the 95 Ky vs Arkansas sec champ. game... Ot Ky finally wins.. The one where Rhodes missed the two free throws to win in regulation... Upped my blood pressure just watching... I had to work that night and listened on radio... had never saw it... Funny how you remember the players and stuff, like it was yesterday.. So I'm checkin the HO before going to bed to settle down..

Only in Kentucky would a man have a heart attack over watching a 20 year old game that he already knew the outcome. :)

banjoman56 - Posted - 03/09/2015:  04:59:05

You mentioned Rhodes Ken, I really liked him as a player before Pitino destroyed his confidence. He could have been special at Ky, with a coach like Cal that would have let him play to his strength's.

it is really crazy down here . basketball 365 days 24,000 +, every home games. everyone including myself have not forgive Pitino  for not putting a man on Grant Hills pass to Latiner in 1992  that cost us the game. that is why it is so good to beat the" ville ". down here Basketball is second to religion , and then sometimes I wonder.when a player is injured we pray for him of course.

banjoman56 - Posted - 03/09/2015:  16:59:05

That game still leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time I think of it! Every old granny and most 3 yr.. old little girls knew where that pass was going and Pitino did nothing to hinder it. After that I had 0 confidence in him when the game was on the line.

and Christian is on u tune admitting to the stomp being intentional , Duke is famous for getting favored calls from the refs

banjoman56 - Posted - 03/10/2015:  09:50:49

I never had any use for him as a player after that incidence.

of course going 34-0 Kentucky is the #1 overall seed

I don't see anyone beating Kentucky, but there is another Wildcat team that Ky needs to watch out for  - the Villanova Wildcats!  Ought to be a god tournament!

Their having a I still hate Christian Letner program on the tv sometime this week.. Anyone notice all the T shirts on the fans at the games..

I agree!  The guy made a great play and played a great game.  I couldn't stand him when he played and my team played him twice a year - and yeah we got all the bad calls, but I have long gotten over him.  There is still plenty to dispose about Duke without him!

Kenneth Logsdon - Posted - 03/17/2015:  06:04:30

The big question..... Are they (refs) gonna let them play ball in the tourney?? I got really fed up with those refs from the Big gentlemens leagues the last few years tailoring and controlling the game calling imaginery and look fouls... The SEC teams and a few select others actually play defense, the others don't and the refs really take the game away from those that do..

The SEC plays defense  -  -   really!  The only team that I saw play defense in the SEC was Kentucky - and boy do they play it.  Ok, maybe a couple of other teams do too, but mostly because they couldn't shoot (South Carolina).  Other than Kentucky, the SEC was pretty weak this year.  I doubt that more than a couple of them will get to the sweet 16 if that far.

Kentucky drew 12,000 fans today for a 30 min practice in Louisville

Weak? and they put 5 teams in the tournament

It's always possible for an underdog to come in and win if they bring their "A" game and Kentucky has off day....but this Kentucky team appears very special. Everyone is picking them to win it all!!!
