Their Finally on here!  Thanks to Ken who handled the technical work..  Five new tunes from our group on the "porch:" have been added here on the homepage..!

All these tunes except for a couple were recorded just as we played them at a picking on the porch..  Someone would holler out play "this" and we would take off !!  So there is absolutely nothing formal about these recordings.. they are complete just as they were played with the coments, mistakes whoops, me turning knobs in the middle of breaks,(even my own!)

With the interest and topic on Dobro.. I included a couple of songs by Ken,  Maidens prayer and Red haired boy..  as examples of Dobro playing and sound, techniques..  Sorry, no banjo here but someone had to play the Guitar!!

Featuring My wife Judy who sings, plays bass and is the real article pictured as a bluegrass muscian..  One of seven sisters, She was born and raised in the hills about 30 miles cross country from the Bill Monroe Homeplace, did the church singing bit with her family as she grew up,.. notice the voice and accents.. nothing fake here!!

James Burba plays mandolin... completely self taught, with his own tuning and his own style...can play virtually any type music on the mandolin on the fly..  A natural talent!  These contain the very first times he came out of the "holler" at Priceville and was recorded!

Josh...  James's Grandson..  "the kid" was fifteen when these were made..   His first time being recorded singing, playing rythym guitar..

Don Campell..  Outstanding bass player ..Plays bass, when Judy isn't singing..  Very knowledgable muscian, plays guitar and banjo..Check out his  Mule song..

Listen and enjoy!!  We're just ganged up having a good time, nothing pro or serious here..

Let us know what you think!!!  And as always everyone is invited to join us on the "porch" !!!

!!!  Gee !!  Thanks everyone! !   For the comments and E mails.. A bit overwhelmed at the response !!!  We know we're not that good, but it makes us smile a little and feel good!!!  If we can do it, anyone can!!  Just turn it loose and have Fun!!!!   Thanks Again!!

Born and raised in Central Ky, on the North boundary of Mammoth Cave Nat'l Park.. Born as the fifth generation and still live in a log house built by my great grandfather with an ax and a saucer of water.. My musical heritage comes from my Paternal side, My grandmother on that side was one of the Real McCoys, and they all played music. My maternal Taylors/puckets were well known and famed as craftspeople.. I got the building bug in the early seventies and built banjos until family and other interests crowded out the time...Have been experimenting with sound and other settup up factors continually though.. A couple of years ago talking with a professional, he made the comment that he wished that he could do what I do, but that he would starve to death! (meaning that he couldn't put the time and particulars into a settup that I do) I work with it until its right for that instrument, I don't quit.. I am very serious about the sound I want, hang the time and expense if required.. I do not accept or charge any money for banjo or settup work.. It is a fun and enjoyment for me for the most part, and if money is involved that makes it work, and I have enuff work already. As far as being on the Hangout, I do not just pass or parrot information in posts, everything that I post is from my own experience and experiments and my own opinion.. Being country and old timy to the bone, I tend to cut out the B.S. and speak the flat out truth..
