Here's a new version of Cold Frosty Morning on clawhammer banjo, guitar &mandolin--it's real pretty and we are trying it out on Bandcamp as an experiment.  If you enjoy my music and have a dollar--please download it and let me know if it downloads okay :) It's the first track I've recorded in over 3 years--thanks for downloading. :)

Bandcamp is new to me.  I went there and looked around and sampled some tunes.

Great version of Cold Frosty Morning.

Just figured out how to embed this player from Bandcamp. You can listen to the full tune streaming--but if you have a dollar, please download it for your music library if you like it. Several folks have already downloaded it and say the download works fine :)
Thanks for listening,
Mary Z Cox

Hey--thanks everyone that downloaded it--hope you are enjoying it. :) I also put up a digital copy of "A secret Life Of Banjo" on bandcamp too.   It is my best seller on itunes. I know many of you already have the cd--but if you are updating everything to mp3--I've put it up so reasonable at this site that its worth it to not have to convert  the files yourself :)

Best wishes always,

Mary Z  Cox

A beautiful photo and a mighty fine tune, well played. Thanks Mary!

Your Cold Frosty Morning photo takes me back to a return trip to Arizona from northern Illinois in early December last year. We spent an extra very cold and snowy day in Claremore, Oklahoma. The Will Rogers turnpike had snow over ice, strong winds, and suicidal eighteen wheeler truck drivers. I couldn't drive 25 mph, let alone the 75 mph limit. Worst of all, I had no banjo to play at the motel or while driving.

Thanks--took this pix on my iphone in the front yard of the farmhouse at the JC Campbell Folk School.  It snowed 8 inches during the night--and it looked so pretty in the morning that I ran out in my pjs and snapped the pix on my phone. Definitely a cold frosty morning :)

"three years"--i am behind on the intel around here. this is one of my favorite tunes, and your rendition is so tasteful and soulful....

Hello,

Thanks for all your kind words. This tune will probably be in my next cd--which will most likely be a vocal cd with a few instrumentals.  I am going to a new studio in August for a couple days and see what kind of sound we can lay down.

If you go to Bandcamp to listen to "Cold Frosty Morning"--I have also put up digital versions of "A Secret Life Of Banjo" & "Drumming on the Edge Of Banjo".  You may listen to full streaming versions of both of these cds--and if you already own these cds and haven't gotten around to changing them to digital--you can download these cds for so little that it is easier to just download them.  Also--you can download in a better audio format than MP3 if you are an audiophile :)

Thanks to everyone who has already downloaded "Cold Frosty Morning. "  It is only available on Bandcamp at the moment and this whole offering is experimental :)

Best wishes,
