I was playing WBB the other night while my four-year-old granddaughter was around and she called out "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!" So I segued into that and you know what... she has a good point. And now I don't think I'll be able to play Whiskey without throwing in a few bars of Twinkle just for the fun of it.

I once did some baby sitting for the 4 year old next door.  He came downstairs with me to my shop.  I turned on some Dwight Diller, then some John Hartford.  A bit of Bob Carlin.  Some Doc Watson.  Some Earl.  The little boy looked at me and asked "Do you have Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" 

Nowadays, as part of my clawhammer teaching, I make beginning students pick out a nursery rhyme and set it to clawhammer style.  It's surprising how many reach for TTLS.

Me and a few buddies were playing a Farmer's Market and some little guy came up and requested "Twinkle Twinkle." We played it and he was thrilled. Then he kept requesting more children's songs, and he soon became annoying. We gave him some whiskey and he fell asleep... Not really. Just trying to keep this comment on-topic.

Thanks for keeping this thread sober, John.  And if you care to know, I have organic decaf with vanilla soy creamer in my mug every morning, California style, but you boys can have your harmless fun if'n you want to.  It's a great tune either way.

Whiskey before breakfast is one of those cool running scale tunes where you really get to run the notes.  Recently I have been playing Spotted Pony which runs the scale in the other direction.  Any other cool scale tunes?....
