Started playing in 1971 on a banjo found in a garbage can. Played quite a bit in the ensuing years and got to the level of "purty good," but years of neglect eroded my banjo skills. Have picked it up recently and trying hard to recover what I once had. Re-learning has been interesting and has shown that both my memory and picking skills aren't totally lost, just covered with several layers of dust. Still have the garbage can banjo, but a Bart Reiter Whyte Laydie is my instrument of choice now.
