At the end of the day, we shoot. It's that simple. We practice to shoot well and to do so efficiently in season.
We like to take out "non-shooters" to blast away at some clays. My GF is a fairly good instructor.
I pull the clays, she coaches and we all have some fun. Couple of hours, even on a calm day in mid-winter.
I'm really happy that none of our shooting gets serious = it's a social thing, some serious attention, then we all back off.
New shooters suddenly realize that they are all alone. The trigger pull is entirely up to them.
Seems to be thoughts about moving targets that they never had to calculate before.
I don't care if they never want to shoot again in their lives, I bank roll the whole deal.
It is pure novelty and entertainment for folks who have never done this before.
But, if you want to tune up for upland bird season, then you pay as you play.
We shoot against an 8,000' , solid rock back stop.

have you ever build an over under?
a guy that I used to work with built several side by side rifles, it was amazing to me. he took a 4X4 block of steer and milled his own reciever, figured the angles to bore the holes and used store bought 30 30 barrels and made a box lock double barreled 30 30 that both sides zeroed at 100 yards with the center sight. he never made anything bigger, but he made several "small" cartridge rifles like that based on a 20 gauge frame

hunting is a way of life for me,always eat what I kill.try to be as self sufficient as poss.very strict gun laws here.handguns were banned here several years ago,so just shotguns and rifles.i lived in the U.S. for 5 years 95-2000.i spent a lot of time hunting and shooting, loved every minute.loved to bowhunt too.bowhunting is illegal here.real shame as I now make bows as well as shoot them.

I wouldn't say I'm a firearm enthusiast, but I do like to shoot on a trap range. Have tried sporting clays a few times - that's even more difficult, but fun.

So is the damage the grenades fault? or is it the person that chooses to do something with it? Yes that grenade by itself is as harmless as an eraser. No law will stop anyone from committing a crime with a grenade either.
I can see the headlines now: ALASKAN BANK ROBBER HOLDS 30 HOSTAGE - KEEPS SWAT TEAM AT BAY WITH AN ERASER..

I'd say I'm definitely into guns, hunting, and fishing. I mainly shoot my LMT AR-15 and Springfield 1911 that has been worked over by Nighthawk Custom.

I'm pretty new to shooting and guns. Never had them growing up, but due to some recent local home invasions and just all around questionable behavior from the local drug abusing population, I decided to strap up. I've got a Taurus .357 Tracker and just picked up a little Ruger LCP for my Wife last week. Planning on getting a .22 Henry in a few months for playing around with, but we've been having a blast shooting what we've got! I probably would have liked something smaller for myself to carry, but I also go out in the woods alot for fishing and gathering firewood, so I wanted something to fend off furry critters too.

spend as much time at the range as you can, I would also say to find an instructor for training

Haha at the rate the state government is going, I'd imagine that isn't too far off. As my old man says..."Only state in the union with a bear and a red star on its flag."

Um, how does he explain the fact that they were there long before Communism?
Commie plot, perhaps?

I just looked at the Nighthawk Custom web page, whew, they have some nice stuff a little pricy for my checkbook, but nice

Yeah, that's why I bought a Springfield Loaded and then sent it off to them to do upgrades on. They did a hand fitted match grade barrel and bushing, 3.5lb trigger job, replaced all trigger components with tool steel, polished all the internals, for about $500. Sent it back with a test target that had 3 rounds in about the same hole from 45 feet. Cheaper than Springfield Custom, but just as good =) I haven't had a single malfunction in the last 6k rounds through it.

I've had good luck with my colt xse guv'ment model, been reliable and accurate off teh shelf
dat - Posted - 05/23/2013: 06:48:49
well, let me change that, it is as accurate as I am, if I had one more accurate I still couldn't shoot any better

I've got a selection of things that go "BANG".
In college, I was at the trap range once or twice/week. I never realized I was actually pretty good until years later when I shot with some club guys.
As ammo prices went up, I got priced out of the fun. I rolled my own, but even reloading prices got silly. Now it's just an occasional trip the the range with a .22. I'll go to the range a few times before hunting season to make sure the hole still goes where I think it does.
Elbow injuries keep me from pulling my compound bow, so I picked up a crossbow. Less fun for me, but it doesn't pull my elbow apart, either.
