Just sold one of my banjos to a friend that wants to play the banjo, so now there are only 16 banjos remaining at my home. She wants to learn bluegrass and was quite delighted with this 1950s contessa style Framus. Goodbye sweet banjo--but now you are going to be played by a new friend instead of hiding under my bed ![]()

It just looks that way because it has that ornamental aluminum engraving around the edge--it was made in Germany in the early 1950s--and plays and sounds extremely nice for a low end banjo. Framus banjos are not popular--but they are better than they have a right to be :)

And how many dulcimers? And guitars for your husband? Cheers. Jerry

Mary was the first documented case of Banjo Acquisition Syndrome according to the New England Journal Of Medicine. Attempts at rehabilitation were unsuccessful. Ultimately the medical community admitted that there is no known cure at this time.

Hmmm, I wonder how many banjos can fit under the bed without my husband's noticing? There's way too much junk under the boys' beds to try hiding any there . . . .

Great comment from "kmwaters"... and i'm feelin' "guilty" with 3. But then again... i hardly can play one decent. Hey... it's important we support our fav' luthiers... which in my case are Jason Romero and Colin Vance... and i see nothin' wrong with that:-)

Loved my old Framus, still have whats left of it ...... They have a nice super adjustable rather narrow neck, I imagine that might be a good thing for someone with smaller hands. She needs to swap out the fifth string tuner for a geared one though. If she gets half the enjoyment out of hers that I got out of mine she will be a very happy lady.

i showed a friend how to play a tune - a few days later she said she d got it and wanted to let me hear.but she sat holding the banjo not understanding why she could nt even start the tune- i asked had she suddenly become left handed ! when she turned the banjo right she had indeed got the tune !
