Hadn't seen this one before.  But this vid - which was posted by BHOer JHillel from Australia in the Hatfield group (he's going to be getting a Special soon), is the next best thing to a trip to the end of Burton Ridge Road.

I GOT TO SPEND A WHOLE DAY WITH ARTHUR. I TOOK THREE BANJOS FOR SET-UP WORK. THEY ALL SOUNDED BETTER WHEN HE WAS DONE ADJUSTING THEM. THANK FOR THE VIDEO.

Thanks for posting this Skip. It really does capture the magic at the end of Burton Ridge Rd. It shows a true craftsman at work and the pride that goes into every Hatfield. 

Now, they need to shoot a sequel with Bev and Ed. :-)

This video was one of the main reasons I decided to buy a Hatfield instrument. It suggests a craftsman who knows and understands banjos, inside and out, better than I ever will. My only regret is that I won't be able to pick up mine in person - I get the impression that I'm missing out on a profound experience!

I got a great deal on a Hatfield conversion a while ago that I couldn't pass up. The only bad thing was I didn't get to deal with Arthur since it was used. I would like to meet him one day. 

Who wouldn't want one of his banjos after seeing the clip! I hope he doesn't get so swamped with work that it messes him up.

Anyway, even though a video could never completely convey the experience of being in the Hatfield section of Glasgow Kentucky I think it's a great thing to see Arthur, and his banjos highlighted.   I agree with Ed, very professional video which displays one of the greatest banjo builders of all time.  He and Bev are two of the finest people you will ever meet.  A visit to their place is just an amazing experience and you just have to go before you will ever really know what we are all talking about.  I am proud to own 2 of Arthur's banjo's.  A Walnut Special and a Celebrity.  Both amazing banjo's that displays his great skills very well.  I am very proud of you Arthur and wish you nothing but the best.

Thanks for posting this video.  I just spoke with Arthur about a month ago to ask if he'd build me a neck.

I'm planning on mailing him the pot and then flying down to pick up the banjo in early August.  I've never been to

that part of the world so it's going to be my "vacation of a life time".  I've wanted to see that area for a long time.

This video just adds to the anticipation.

Thanks guys for all the nice compliments. I have met so many nice people through Banjo Hangout and became good friends with a lot of them. Also talked on the phone and emailed with a lot more so  many times that I have never met in person that I have a good friendship with them. I had no idea that this video was on the internet. They came from Western Kentucky University a couple of years ago to the shop and filmed about six hours and used this 5 minutes of it on a program called Main Street on WBKO -TV in Bowling Green, Ky. and was to be aired on the other KET channels in the state of Ky. This was a crew of 4 seniors at WKU who had been filming Westerns basketball games for the past couple of years as a part of their class. This video was also done by them as a part of their Class project.

Rooster, go ahead and pack your belongings, sell the house, and plan on staying. Once you get there, it awful hard to go back to where ya came from! I only live about an hour and a half from there, and most times Bev has to hit me with sticks, and throw hot  bacon grease on me to make me leave!!! Many times I have left just about the time the possums come out to feed.

pipefitter;  I`m thinking that you`re offering me some pretty sound advice.  Even though I live in a part of the world that suits me pretty well (work and live on a ranch that runs on over a half million acres of real nice country) the thought crossed my mind that once I get down there, I won`t want to leave.  I`ve read countless posts on here about what fine people the Hatfield`s are and the quality of Arthur`s work.  Can`t wait!!!

Very nice video featuring one of the top independent luthiers and overall nicest fellas you'll ever meet. No trip to SPBGMA is complete without hanging out in Arthur's room, otherwise known as Banjo Nirvana.  You never know who you'll see in there, but it's a good bet that if you hang out long enough you'll run into Greg Rich, Ed Stacy and Kenny Ingram.

By the way, it was really nice to hear Arthur picking "In The Sweet By and By".  My mother passed away today, and I was just thinking of that song earlier.  It's perfect for the banjo and perfect for the way I'm feeling tonight.  Thanks for posting this.

Ed Stacy owns the banjos and all I`ve got is a crappy old T-shirt with holes in it...Ive saved up my empty beer cans and will be able to afford a new Hatfield T shirt this next SPGMA--I hope...I just came back from Arthurs a few weeks ago and had a great visit as always. Ed was there so I didnt get to talk, but it went well otherwise..Ed you can get even at Athens...Great folks,Great Friends and Great to know them..
