Wow. Guess I'm many decades ahead of the curve regarding this particular "movement."
Perhaps it's a generational thing; it wouldn't surprise if the age cohorts from millenials and younger are all about fast and easy when it comes to food.
I would argue that some of these folks have never tasted the real thing. Certain exquisite food items do require an ability to delay gratification.
Y'know, I was brought up where going out to eat was special.
Modern day work environment shoots this in the foot. I was odd for bringing my lunch. Retired now. Reverted back to good old home cooking. When we do go out for food, it better be worthwhile. I'm not into movements. Just a common sense approach that's obviously personal. I don't know what I'd do if I lived close to a good restaurant? They don't put restaurants on gravel around here, so I'm safe.
I'm another one where going out to eat was a treat. When I was raising my kids, we always had a made at home breakfast, kids would pack a lunch for school and I always fixed supper. About the onlly time we ate out was when we were traveling, and then not often.
Nowadays, I cook at home all the time. I don't go out to fast food joints or order or go get fast food. I think my homemade food tastes better and is a lot cheaper on my pocketbook.
When I was working, I had time to go home and get a quick salad or sandwich, so again, seldom ate out.
