I have a banjo that belonged to my grandfather, from what I’m told is he bought it some time after he came home from a war. I know he had it looked at before he passed away and was told it was valued at around $7000, I’ve tried looking into it myself and most banjos are not going for more than $5000 but I had someone that owns a music store look into it and said it’s worth between $7000 to 11,000. I’m curious to know the value and what makes it worth that amount.
We need pictures and more information. What type of banjo is it: 5 string resonator, 5 string open back, 4 string, 6 string. Does it have a name on the headstock like Gibson, Stelling, etc.
Please make pictures of the headstock, fretboard, pot (front and back if it's a resonator), tail piece and any cracks, breaks, dents, dings. etc.
Does it have a hard shell case, soft case, no case?
