Well, Mrs. Slammer and myself have a few things to pack yet, but are heading out camping one last time this year. We are headed back to Grand Marais, Michigan for 4 days up on da Big Gitchee Gumee shoreline, aka, Lake Superior. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, other than they are expecting 25-40 mph winds and cold nights. Told her we might have to “cuddle” , and I got the “look” . Got enough packed for just about every scenario. Mrs. Slammer will be rock hounding on da beeches and I’ll be trying to catch whitefish, steelhead and cohos off the break wall and river mouths.
Probably no campfires allowed as it’s been drier than a popcorn fart here with the drought, not to mention the winds. Good camp coffee, food, and a few cold ones , the views and fall colors should be amazing though!!!

Just got back from camping last night from Grand Marais , Michigan.
The weekend weather was extremely windy, but warm temps and beautiful beach time. Waters were too rough to fish with 6-10 foot rollers and crashing waves. The power of the water is incredible. No campfires either as they were banned due to drought and winds.
Ribeyes on da Blackstone were amazing as well as Bloody Mary’s with breakfast. Cold brews, great views, lots of rock hounding for agates, fall colors and exploring new territory, and don’t forget the Jiffy Pop !!! Was a Great 4 days minus the wind and rain!!!
