We do a Mississippi Blues song by Ivory Joe Hunter called " Since I Met You Baby". Key of C. Its a keeper in our song book and great for breaks. Thanks for bringing up the Blues Jack.

Sorry about my lack of success with Roger Sprung. I was new to NYC in 1968 and heard Roger playing at Washington Square Park and He was great. He did not care for me bringing my kind of banjo playing which was at the time, Scruggs Style but I was very solid.  At parties, Roger would not even speak to me and I was just a 21 year old and confused by his attitude towards me. So I just ignored Roger and stayed away from Him as much as I could....Jack
 

Jack....thanks for the note on Roger Sprung. Like all of us he loved his banjo and entertaining . He did inspire people with his type of music and knowledge of the banjo.

From my limited encounters with Roger Sprung (at like every Phila Folk Fest in the 60s) I wouldn't take it too personally. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
I assumed which Willie Brown (I know of 2) and which Mississippi Blues (uncountable) you meant.
Great tune. I just listened again and discovered that playing triplets on two strings over the walking bass break, which I remembered as being my innovation, was there all along! Mayhaps I saw Bromberg using just the first string there. Who knows, long ago.

Read the liner notes because it tells you which version I'm using. I got my recording from the Library of Congress via Folkways records...It is a great song and the high part took me a long time to both learn and put it all into Tabledit....Jack

Daviid Bromber is not really a finger picker, He's more of a Bluegrass Flat Picker so I don't think He tried to play it as it was recorded....Jack

Willie Brown is named in Robert Johnson's "Crossroads Blues," which was recorded by Michael J. Miles in a nice clawhammer arrangement -- on a gourd banjo, if I recall correctly.
