I was watching a documentary last night, and they said that Boeing employed over 70,000 people during WW2, and after the surrender, they downsized to less than 9000 people. That's a lot of jobs lost. I'm a retired career military person. War, the threat of war, and possessing weapons that can either wipe out a civilization, or act as a deterrent, employ hundreds of thousands of people. It supported myself, my family, and retirement. It's supported every company of every product I've ever bought as an adult, including seafood from Maine. It's supported every service I've ever paid for. It's supported the banjo companies I've bought banjos from. I live near the Boeing factory, at the Air Force base I retired from. The amount of revenue it pours into our city is huge. The more you think about it, the deeper it gets.
