Thay are flyin faster n I thought tho..

I think these brass jackets will work like ..sx..bullets..(look them up)..

At 3000 fps...thay may come apart due to centrifugal force..

Tis why I am testing with the 22 hornet..

Lower velosity..n a one in 16" twist rather than a one in 10" twist of me 222 remingtons...

Also made a new top n bottom set for swaging.. to make for better adjusting of the completed set..
Now I can set the pressure..rather than just feel as I did before..

Makes for better consistancy..in the swaging prossess..

This is how the cases come out from the mold..filled with lead.
If i do my part....

Made up some improved bullets..
Pretty happy with them..49.5 gr weight...+ or -3 grains or so..
Not bad when dealing with lead..

N..on par with some factory bullets..

The die has some minor imperfections..that i may try to correct..but the bullets are very cimetrical(round)..n that is the big thing..
It is keeping me entertained.. :0)
Made a small batch to try at the range..

Had time so made som 69 grainers.. :0)

Gettin betta.. :0)

Had a little 4 power 22 rimfire scope on the rifle for these groups..
But now have up grades..to a 3 to 9 power....

So.... I made a little jig to cut the 22 lr cases to close nuff 22 short cases..
Still 22 short cases are better..as the crimp that is on the case mouth is turned in a bit to start with..a tad bit better for the forming processes..

But I can now use 22 lr cases to now get 50 gr boolits..
Just another step in the prosses..

Note..that chop saw is super powerfull..... ;0)

The bullets for comparison..the one with th U on the bottom is a cut 22 lr the one with the c on the bottom is a short case..
N..I rather like the super x logo one...

My brother came over today to test his Ruger 10/22 rifle with a new silencer on it with standard .22LR shells. It worked perfectly with the sound about like a powerful pellet rifle.

I would like a suppressor..
But waiting to see if the laws on them change..

I made a suppressor once..totally illegal in Canada but it was just a shop project. Totally amateur as I don't have a lathe etc for accurate machining but oh well. 

I used the 1" pipe with engine freeze plugs as baffles spaced out in the tube. I filled in between with steel wool. I used a 2" tapered steel plug with set screws to attach to the barrel vs threads..I found it at Princess Auto? I had to drill the baffle hole a bit larger as the entire thing wasn't really straight and true. I used it on a Win Mod 70 270 with 150gr Noslers and IMR trail Boss. Without the suppressor it was loud like a rifle. With the suppressor it was like a pellet gun. Id love to have a real one but again..totally illegal in Canada.
