A 25 rimfire converted to center fire barrel ..made an adapter to fit it to me 1885 winchester..
I'll make ammo from 22 k hornet brass..

Made 2 dummy rounds... :0)

Test fired today..
The extractor was a buggah to make.. very small rim..to cut by hand..

3 differnt loads ..
All with a 65 grain cast boolit..
987 fps...
1450 fps...
N...
1700 fps...
Waiting on some iron sights for it now..n..gotta make a forearm...

An old beater shotgun that was not shootable as a shotgun ..old twist steel barrel....
But now is a good barn varmint buster..
25 cal...that little rim fire copy round i made up..

Shoots good to about 100 feet..now..with just a front bead.. n no rear sight..

Just ah bunch of junk parts..that now work at dooin somthin together... :0)

The gun it'self was made (patented) around 1882 or there abouts in Mass..

This is just flat out awesome. I'd bet the farm it is going to be a great shooter.

You can not know how tricky and difficult this is until you’ve tried it yourself.
I was given a rifle early this year, as a gift, from my brother.
A CZ 24 Mauser, in a 9.3x62. For how nice the barreled action is, I thought the wood stock was barely so-so.
I had a semi-inletted stock that was made for a 98 Mauser. Really nice piece of claro walnut.
I worked on that project for months. After numerous mistakes I finally got it to a point I thought was ready for applying finish.
I ended up using Lin-Speed. After more mistakes, I finally got it as good as it’s gonna get.
I also tried to learn to checker during this time. Hoping I would be able to checker it myself. Ruined several stocks in the process.
I decided to have that done by a professional. Should be ready in about a month.

With steel if ya make a mistake..you can mostly get a do-ovah.. by puttin some back..

Wood not so much..
Me fit n finish in the wood dept..is a bit lacking...
But it dose get better most every time...
If I need great fit ...
Houge stock works.. got one on me .257 Roberts.. ;0)

The factory load for the 25 rf is a 65 grain boolit @ 1200 fps...
I have achieved that with 2.5 grains of red dot powder n both plain based n gas checked boolits.. :0)

Pretty cheap shootin.. ;0)

N..at that load i think the brass will last for about...
Forever... :0)

Very pleasant to shoot.. kinda like a .22 lr's big brother... ;0)
But reloadable..

As I said, harder than it looks. Installed a recoil pad on the .257, just now.

Can you move the holes a bit in the pad?

Or plug n re drill the holes in the stock?

That’s just what I did. Plugged the holes and will try to get them on straight tomorrow.

First time cutting dovetail slots for iron sights..
Got room for improvement i do..
But...
They are tight n strait..

Cut depths are a tad off..
But serviceable..
