More About Me
I've played old-time banjo since I was 10, and have no plans to stop! I play basically all the old-time styles (clawhammer, index-lead and thumb-lead 2-finger, 3-finger, and up-picking, as well as some minstrel-era stuff). I'm really interested in field recordings of older banjo players and in obscure tunings and banjo-specific repertoire. I'm happy to teach all levels of old-time banjo, of whatever style.
About me: I've played since I was 10, with a variety of teachers. I was Mike Seeger's apprentice for a year, I've been the Virginia State banjo player a few times, and I've been in the Clifftop banjo finals the last 4 years in a row (no blue ribbon yet, sadly).
