More About Me
I am offering lessons in bluegrass banjo. I teach Scruggs and melodic styles in addition to clawhammer. In lessons, I focus on playing techniques, learning tunes by ear and from tab, as well as the various elements of jamming with other musicians. With this in mind, I also leave room for you the student to decide the direction in which you want your lessons to progress.
I welcome students of all skill levels, ranging from complete beginners to experienced pickers looking for a fresh approach to the instrument.
Lessons are available at my home studio in East Nashville. My rate is $40 for one hour lessons. I also offer a month-long package deal of $120 for four weekly sessions ($30 per lesson).
As for my background, I am a working musician and experienced teacher and performer. I got my degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I had the opportunity to study the banjo with a number of influential banjo players including Bill Keith, Tony Trischka, Alan Munde and Noam Pikelny among others.
