Country blues classic by Skip James, which I've set on the banjo [double-c tuning]. Hope you like the Tradesman's ring.

Nice job on that Killing Floor.  I saw Skip James in concert back the sixites at the Philliy Folk Festival. It was surreal.  Good job on a tune that is not easy to capture.

Aren't the blues great on the Banjo?  I love the combination of the "happy" sound of a Banjo underneath pitiful stories.

Thanks Festus, I'm at work so I don't have the opportunity to check out your postings, but I'll give a listen later. Cheers, Ted.

Very cool. I haven't ventured into blues on the banjo yet but may have to give it a try after hearing this.

Wow, was just trying to work out this tune in open g and getting nowhere, gave you a listen and already double C is proving easier.

Nice work!

great playing and singing. I'm still hoping for a tab of "killing floor" which is still giving me fits, but the interest in blues banjo might suggest the market for a book on the subject.

cheers,
jim

A great performance, very evocative. A fine blend of banjo and voice.

Ted, in a word, excellent. That's how the blues sounds when it's played by a clawhammer player. Respect.
