SIX MONTHS! April 08. April '08: Here's one of my 6-months-of-playing anniversary tunes. Yet another version of June Apple, but we really had fun with this one. My son Wes played bass. It jazzes up a bit after the first verse. As always, criticisms and all other help gladly welcomed.

Waaaay cool! The bass adds a nice bottom end, and the banjo sounds good and even.

No criticisms here! Terrific. Sounds like you've been playing forever. You got some pretty complicated stuff thrown in there. I love it!

Wonderful picking, I especially like that syncopated slur (sounds like a choke) that you put in with complete abandon at the beginning of the B part as it gets going. After six months I was still going "duh, how do I tune this thing?"

This is amazingly strong, and confident playing for someone who was only only playing for 6 months. It's just plain good MUSIC!
(At that point I think I was still figuring out which direction to hold the neck -- up, down, left, or right... I know that I tried them all... ;-)
