This weeks effort features my new Deering Calico and my wife's $310 mando. Nearly 6months of learning now and I'm beginning to *almost* feel what it must be like to play proper Scruggs style - like a machine gun Janet Davis says... (mine sounds more like a rusty Gatling gun missing a few barrels and being turned by a wounded soldier :-( Ah well.. one day maybe)

Hey Patrick, that sounds great! Nice accompaniment. Those Calico's kick butt - I nearly bought one a few years back. Your pulloffs are pretty clean and timing is 90% - or better - really good. Hard to believe how short a time you've been playing. Keep up the good work.

I should sound so good (31/2yrs).It is more than just ok ,ok..What other instruments do you play .And how long playing them ,Why do i ask ,because you are really good if the banjo is all you play ,heck ,you are good regardless

You're doing really well for 3 months playing. Just slow it down a wee bit and work on timing. Wish I had someone in my family to play with ... you're very fortunate. That Calico sound great ... I really like Deering Banjos.

Timing, speed and sound are all right on the money as far as I can tell.
Your progress is nothing short of exponential.

Hey Patrick,
that Calico sounds awesome and your playing is awesome. hopefully I can make some songs sound like songs soon. keep it up. I like to hear all of your progress.
