This morning I was trying to learn some songs in D tuning. Then I started to loose my concentration and began doodling. I think this has possibilities. It is all my own creation and for me represents a giant step although it is rough and definately a work in progress.

I can already hear your style emerging in this. The more you doodle the easier the notes come, and before ya know it- Wala! You have YOUR style! - Terry

I find that when I tackle a song by ear, it does become easier, as there are a lot of what I have been doodling with that can used when picking out a song. I was working on "Your Cheating Heart" and the first measure or so was easy to do because I'd been doodling on those notes - not exactly the same, but the fingering was there - and that was done over 1 1/2 years ago.
I've been spending time on playing by ear and working things into the basic melody. I feel I am making progress. And most importantly - I'm having fun.....
Thanks for all the kind comments.
