Genre: Old Time / Playing Style: Clawhammer and Old-Time
For the old-time Tune of the Week, this arrangement of Road to Boston comes from the musical notation of fifer William Morris at the beginning of the American Revolution. The soldiers must have felt upbeat when they marched to it.

Another wonderful old time piece. Sometimes I wish music was still on the simpler “here’s the melody, that’s all there is” side of things. Yet I do not adhere to my own wishful thoughts. But you do the old time genre much justice, Ms. Janet. Continue to play what you love. It keeps me grounded.

Great old tune and great job a-pickin' it. This was a very popular tune with military fife and drum units in the Revolutionary and Civil War.
