I also have a likening to that open back sound! Sometimes I take off my resonator just to sound a bit more like the good clawhammer and old-time playing members here. There is something to be said for that open back sound, thats fer sure.

It is in time and a notes in the right place ,a little more time ,not much and you will be pickin that real fast with everything in place .Good luck and dont give up
