When you first hear this tune it's through the bandmates of the John Hartford String Band after John had passed. It's a gorgeous piece, like a symphony. I think it will take me years to really learn it.

Absolutely beautiful rendition! Mr. Hartford was the quintessential musical genius, and I am always excited when you post another of his tunes. Many thanks Ms. Janet!

So nice to know his music is appreciated by others like yourself, as I do. I keep uncovering more of Hartford’s gems.

Boy that's a notey one, very pretty. Nice playing.

Thanks, Rick. I keep attempting to learn it by heart. It's a little concerto I'm thinking and is challenging.

John sure had many musical sides to him. Thanks for taking time to learn these.

Nice of you to listen and comment, Denton. I've been working on memorizing this tune for a while. I'm almost there, and the more I play it the more I can sense its structure. I really think he and O'Carolan had some things in common the way they phrase and let passages lead into others passages, kind of unexpectedly, but very pleasantly. It's like how some people speak, not in short sentences!
