Heres a instrumental take of Mothers Advice inspired from the pickn of Boggs. I worked out the claw version in the first position and got as close to Boggs up the neck version as I can get. Played a dirty thirtys RK that I modified quite a bit to get this sound. Diggn the deep sound, nice change and more relaxing to my ears. cheers

Thanks Rick. Added a tone hoop, a skin head and the strings are the base side of an electrical guitar set. Tuned to about the equivalent of an octave below open a

Would have never guessed electric guitar strings; always thought those things had almost no sound at all unless they were amplified. Wouldn't have guessed skin head either, although afer another listen it makes sense. Do you have to modify the rim to fit a tone hoop in there?

Modified...Yep, I eyeballed drill bits to the size of the hoop and drilled as close to the original neck bolt holes as close as can be(but higher). Way she goes, crude, but works. Wouldn't try that on an expensive banjo. Some nice on the ears, the base sound.
