Wonderful performance by Hobo Pie. How did you learn it? From the 1871 sheet music?

No, I originally learned it from the transcription and verses in Ira Ford's book. That's how I began to suspect that it was sheet music and that some words were missing and jumped at the opportunity when the Library of Congress first digitized some sheet music.
