Genre: Other / Playing Style: Clawhammer and Old-Time
This is one of my favorite tunes that we played in the klezmer band, Gefilte Trout, a number of years ago. The traditional tune is originally in minor key D, but our fiddler, Carla Chandler, morphed it into major. It is great fun to play. I love three-part tunes! Who says that clawhammer banjo can't play klezmer? I recorded this on my dumb phone a couple of years ago so I would always remember the tune. My grandparents came from Odessa, Ukraine around the turn of the century. Another reason it is dear to my heart!

Different from the fiddle tunes I've been playing! Sounds like a tune that indeed may have come from the neck of the woods where your grandparents lived. I agree that clawhammer can be very adaptable.
