Here's a tune by The Dillards (a.k.a. The Darlings, on the Andy Griffith Show). The melody, chords, and lyrics are similar to, but not quite the same as another song, called "The Leatherwing Bat," recorded by Pete Seeger and various other folk singers. I was inspired to try this tune after seeing a video on YouTube, posted by a girl by the name of Molly Tuttle. Here it is (she actually sings it, while playing in a somewhat unusual clawhammer style on guitar): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM29Vb6A_z8
