I think that you are progressing just fine, Rome wasn't built in 1 day. I will say this, before you try to speed it up make sure that you are getting all your notes correctly and then the speed will come, keep on picking.

Your very correct. I struggle with my self to keep from going too fast. Especially when playing in front of someone and even recoding myself. I did learn by listening to the recording the spots I am going to focus on. Am i doing the pull off right is my biggest problem.

I think that you are, now I know that it sounds sort of funky at the slower speed, but that will change as you get faster, I wouldn't worry about that just yet, just work on your notes and timing and it will come to you.

Kristina: You're doing fine. Like Banjomaster said, stick with it at a slow rate. You are putting in an extra note in one place - you should be able to hear that when you listen to your mp3. One thing that has helped me (a lot) is to use either TablEdit or Amazing slowdowner - to play the song at your current pace and play along to get the timing right. I particularly like using TablEdit for this - if you have the TABS that you can play in TablEdit that will work for you. You can slow it way down and play along - you will easily hear where your errors are.

This is not an easy song for a beginner - congrats on taking it on!

Thank you gentleman. I took your advice and slowed it down until I can play it smoothly. That extra note is tied in with my pull off I am trying to make it sound like seanrays version he has posted ontime since its tab I am working off of. He is playing it differently so I just have to figure out how to make it sound like his then I wont have that extra note. Thanks for listening I know its kind of painful to hear someone slaughter a song but I guess thats how you learn. :)

GREAT JOB!! I'm trying to come back after a 15 year "layoff" from banjo and whenever I hear someone like you playing this well it gives me another big boost. Thank you MUCH!! I'm impressed with how well you're doing. Guess I'd better get busy or you'll be leaving me in the dust.

It sounds like you have learned by the Murphy Method. Your doing great! I have found by using a metronome it has helped me. I also play upright bass too.

I have found by playing the bass you have to keep everyone else in time. They have a tendency to run off the tracks. Like murphy says your speed comes later. Learn the notes and keep your timing even if you play slow. You will see it comes in time.
