Kidd you know what, your right I do believe. Ive never though about it but unlike most pickers I dont have a "Sound" and I dont want to believe it or not. I have a Nechville that I really like but its set up to be very mellow and I have always played very light and throwed in Single string stuff and Melodic stuff with my Scruggs.
As of late though Ive been on a Scruggs kick and I think Ron Stewart is the best there is so Ive been trying to dig i na little more for some drive, which is not really me but Im glad I can kinda change......point is, your right I was playing with a little more umph than usual and need to raise the action a tad.

That is a great sounding banjo, I believe that some medium strings will bring out the volume and tone a little more, of course the action is a thing of personal preferance, but it sounds great, congrats.
