This was one of Dad's favorite tunes. It is another raw recording for the Collecting Dust CD, featuring Will and Trey Hensley. 1:51 min, 1.7MB

One of my favorite tunes to play. I remember when I first heard him play this I thought that if I could ever play that tune and get those double stops like he did, I'd be happy. He's playing beautifully here. Will was a master.

Gorgeous! As always Will is completely impossible to imitate---one can only hope to be inspired and have some of his take on a tune rub off! Interesting that this tune is also played in central NC, with the same name, and often 2-finger style as well. I wonder if the late Lauchlin Shaw (fiddle) & AC Overton (2-finger banjo), who I heard play it, might have learned it from Will at Union Grove.
