Interesting; it's a nice waltz in D but different melody to the Peekaboo Waltz (also in D) that I know and with versions of it already available in the BHO.

This is the Peekaboo Waltz from Tommy Jarrell (learned primarily from the recording on Field Recorders collective of him playing with Mike Seeger and Paul Brown - fieldrecorder.com/docs/notes/j...stein.htm). This is the only version I've heard at jams.
I'd love to here the other ones - do you know where I can find them? (I searched on the BHO but couldn't find any others).

I should add that the name comes from the only lyric Tommy sings on this tune, which has to be one of the greatest old-time lyrics ever. And I don't know if whoever wrote it only penned one verse, or if Tommy just forgot the rest. But it goes:
"peekaboo, peekaboo, you rascal you, i see you hiding behind that tree"
i laugh every time i hear it.

Cool, thanks. Another peekaboo indeed! I'll add that one to the to do list.

OK, great. The one I play I originally came across at the regular Sunday night OT jam in Waltham, Mass. It has similarities to the (Canadian) Log Driver's Waltz (which I also play and is in Gmajor).
Email me if you want sheet music or an MP3.
