I prefer no picks, I used to get a ticking sound from metal to metal contact and a hard driving sound. Bare finger picking gives a mellow, sweeter tone I feel.
You sound like you dig in a lot more than me though and probably produce more volume. Do you think it was a one off try or will you continue like it..?
