I'm a clawhammer player, but lately I've been obsessed with Charlie Poole, Frank Jenkins, and Pete Peterson's banjo playing. Now I just worked up this arrangement yesterday and recorded today so it's definately a little rough and slow, but isn't it a pretty banjo tune? Gotta love the old-time three finger!

sounds great man! I don't think it sounds slow. I think the tempo is perfect, no more speed required!

Wow, Isaac! That sounds great. Is that in F#DF#AD tuning? I can't believe that in all these years, I've never really dug into 2- and 3-finger picking in earnest. I love it, and I've messed around with it a bit on and off, but maybe you'll inspire (or shame) me into getting off my butt and working on it! Keep it up; you've got a great ear and a great touch!

Ha I don't care if you just laid it out the day before you recorded it, there's no way you can call that rough and slow. That's a great little song man, it's got some nice old old sounding little turns in it, and it's a gem. Keep up the good work.

Sounds good, Isaac. I've found that the key to this tune is to engage the part of your brain that's still a reptile. The second I find myself thinking about the rols (especially on the B part) - it's gone!

Very nice tempo. Takes you up and reminds me of walking on clouds. Great job.

Nice work! I really like that a lot. That tune sounds like it might have somewhat of a relationship to Spanish Fandango.
