Genre: Old Time / Playing Style: Clawhammer and Old-Time
A traditional three-part fiddle tune that comes from Alabama. I'm playing it clawhammer style on a resonator guitar with Mike Eberle on fiddle. Because I'm not playing this tune on a banjo, but rather playing it in a banjo tuning (aEAC#E) and clawhammer style, I'm not sure how this will be received here on the Hangout.

Dean, that sounds really nice!
So, you actually took the guitar's 5th and 6th strings off and then added a (banjo)5th string?

No, left the existing fifth string on, which is a bass string and I kept it tuned low. I did take off the sixth string as it was getting in the way and I wasn't using it.

Nice Dean. Paul has tuned his guitar for me to hammer in the past. Part of my Son's band (Kilborn Alley Blues Band) was present one time and they really enjoyed it. I tend to stroke pretty hard so when I play in this manner you can here my hand drum on the guitar body. Well received by this banjo player!

That's cool Dean, I like how the A (5th) string gives it a low drone on the the root note.
Thanks for putting that up.

Well played it works really really well. I find clawhammr guitar difficult. Sounds like you've gort the hang of it.
