Moonlight is a Kentucky tune. I don't know the source, but I believe it was collected by Bruce Greene. I've heard that the source recording was in the key of D, but everyone I know who plays it (and there aren't many) plays it in A. I recorded this in a jam with Palmer and Greg Loux at their home in PA this last Saturday (5/15/10). Palmer Loux-fiddle; Steve Arkin-3-finger banjo, Greg Loux-guitar. There's a cell phone ring at the end--the Louxes son was calling them.

Nice tune Steve! How did you record it?

I recorded with a Zoom H2 set on "front," stereo, and--inadvertently--WAV. I don't remember the original bit rate. So I converted to an Mp3 in ITunes before uploading to BH. Usually I record MP3 - 192.

Those zoom recorders are amazing... sort of turns a living room into a studio w/o all the fuss and muss.
Again... great stuff! Keep posting
