This is the first song that I wrote in country style for banjo. At first it was written in Russian language by myself. And now I'm happy that I can sing it in English too! This English version of lyrics for this song was written for me by my Banjo Hangout friend - Mike Gregory! I want to thank him very much for his great work about my Russian lyrics to translate it in English! So his name will appear on my future banjo CD where I add this song if you'll appreciate my performance of it. It is so great to creating real song together with my friend from another side of the Earth! All banjo parts by me; guitar, arrangement, record and mixing were done by Alexander Kartoyev who made my previous records too. Hope to see your comments here (especially about what you imagine while listening this song). It is very important and interesting for me :)

Yippee-ti-yo, Cowgirl!
I am so proud to be part of this international effort.
And when I think of the people who used to play chess by mailing each other one move at a time, when the mail was carried by sailing ships, the very fact that we were able to send lyrics and corrections and rough drafts, and have this DONE (and done so well by you and Mr, Kartoyev) in less than a year, should be amazing

Great stuff Jana. Love the arrangement. You are very talented - not only do you play banjo well, but you can write songs & sing them too !. I love the combination of harmonies, a bit of fuzz guitar, mixed with lovely music. A dash of spice makes the meal taste good !. Please keep writing & playing (and don't forget to post to the hangout site !). Peter. Sydney Australia.

You have a nice deep voice for a little picker and it is reassuring to hear you so relaxed. Great triplets.

Excellent. Great voice, that is very easy to listen to. Enjoy both English and native language (even though I don't understand it).
Your playing is also very smooth and well timed.
I don't play, but do appreciate those who do play well. Your playing is right at the top of my list!

I transcribed your song and listened to it over and over, trying to put chords above the words so I could play along. The more I listened, the deeper it affected me. (I was close to tears at one point!) It starts as a lament, then seems to change to optimism at the end. Thanks for sharing with the banjo hangout! And thanks to Mike Gregory!

Is this Google translation any good?

I'm so happy to see this conversation from so many places so far apart. It is giving me a reason to get to work on my Russian and my Music. My goal is to write a banjo song with Russian lyrics. Russian is the most musical, poetic language on Earth.
