My father banjo parts from the Christy banjo factory when the Platte River destroyed the factory in 1965, My friends and I had tried to make banjos in our garages. The Kingston Trio was making the banjo popular in those days. I lost my crooked banjo in 1991. For my birthday in 2006, my wife bought me a Fender banjo at the Kiing Music Store in Kankakee, IL. I've been practicing... playing scales and such, and I'm getting better at it.
