Nice 3-part C tune from Bob Walter; there's also a version from Casey Jones (the fiddler; not the engineer). Pardon the recording quality, but I like the drive of John Hoffmann's fiddle--a challenge to match him on banjo. This performance by Lightning in the East was recorded at the 2007 Park Slope Jamboree. John Hoffmann-fiddle; Steve Arkin-banjo; Erica Weiss-guitar.

Oops--this recording was from the rehearsal, not the performance. The performance was a lot tighter, but I guess I'll leave well enough alone.

Wow! I got this one from Christeson's transcription of Bob Walters and have played it (rarely) in jams. I thought it was a great tune. Now I know it is. Excellent!

Thanks Lyle. There seems to be some discussion of whether the source's correct spelling is Bob Walter or Bob Walters. In their copious research, Clare Milliner and Walt Koken seem to have arrived at "Walter" as the correct spelling. Same issue as with Edden, Ed'n, or Edd'n Hammons; or with Emery v. Emory Bailey. We may never find definitive answers to these questions. So I should also mention that another source for this tune is a Missouri fiddler named Casey Jones (no relation to the fabled railroad engineer). He just called it "Melinda."
