I like this tune a lot. I played it in G on a Ramsey Standard.

Thanks! I know that it's supposed to be played much faster, though.

I think as long as it's played well then fast or slow, it'll still sound good. I'm learning it at the moment myself (picking style).

As people have told me, speed is overrated. Keep it slow and clean. The speed will come with practice. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Speed comes on it's own, as the hands get accostomed to the location of the notes. Too much speed is a stumbling block to learning. Stay slow & steady and let the speed develop at it's own pace.

Jeri,
As a novice player, I enjoyed this very much. I've only recorded myself once and it was a very frustrating experience, but worth doing. Probably time to try it again and see if I have improved.
Great to see that there are old-time players in Clarksville, my old homeplace. My parents just retired back to Clarksville two years ago. Are there any jams in town? I know my great uncle used to play in one years ago somewhere out in Sango. Maybe not a "jam"--more like playing on the front porch of a country store!
Keep up the good work!
Brian

I like the old Joe clark. I can't play it yet, but its on my list of tunes to learn. I enjoyed your version, and the tempo seemed fine to me.
