My loves are old tools and old time music. I just finished a reproduction Boucher fretless minstrel banjo made entirely with hand tools, most of them from the 19th century. I am a lifelong bluegrass fan, but prefer clawhammer style banjo and these days I mostly listen to old time music. I have fallen in love with minstrel stroke style and learning about the early history of the banjo and learning about the music played by slaves. I especially like songs about biscuits, possums, hogs, mules, roosters, and corn liquor.
