This is an instrumental take on Jim Croce's tune. This was recorded as part of some basement grunge tapes made with Kent Bilbry in Knoxville, TN sometime in 2008. I recorded the banjo then Kent dropped in other instruments a few weeks later as he was learning about his new digital recorder. A bit sloppy, this was never meant to be anything other than a scratch track but thought I'd share it here. I have never found any musicians willing to work this up with me, having been told this is basically a gag-and-choke crappy song. I disagree. I always liked the tune myself. I hope you do too.

Very nice, BJ, very fluid picking. There is room, I hope, for music that is a little sentimental.
