My friend Matthew Katinsky came over to the house today and we recorded this song on the first take. Matthew is playing guitar and I'm playing an old Stewart Thoroughbred with Nygut strings in the key of F. I first heard this tune from Doc and Merle Watson.

I LOVED this recording! Nothing sounds better than banjo on the lead with guitar playing the short walking bass lines (and both strumming along of course). The performance was excellent. The first take was the thing that clinched the deal I think. Your singing is JUST right - very relaxed . . . even conversational and aimed directly at the listener. You both sound just right. This one is ready to go to the 78 rpm stamping factory! (The Stewart records well!)
