I learned to play BlackBerry Blossom in this style when I was in Jamaica a couple of years ago. I learned it on my little Baby Taylor travel guitar, and adapted it to the banjo when I got back home. It is supposed to be slow and synchopated (like most of life in Jamaica). Try it... It's not easy hitting the notes clearly at this speed - and keeping the synch going throughout the song. You will notice some chord differences and the range is much broader than the traditional version. Pop a Red Stripe, put on your bikini, and enjoy. (I have heard it said that if you have never seen Al Price in his bikini holding a Red Stripe beer you are just letting the best in life pass you by... LOL...)

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. And especially appreciate the capital letter!

I really like your version of Blackberry Blossom. I actually downloaded it to my IPOD. :) Sometimes slower is definitely better.
