2-finger aDADE tuning. The recording stuff on the computer is off somehow and made things sound kind of scratchy.

Great job, Chip.   Amazing how you can take a well trodden tune and make it sound spanking new.

I don't know what it is about this song, but it really grabs me. Five stars!

It's such a sparkling, exhuberant performance, one is lulled into not noticing all kinds of subtle, interesting things going on in there. Truly wonderful.

Chip...I have heard that there are words to this tune..have you ever heard that?
My Dad played in the late 20s and early 30s said his banjo player played it almost in Scruggs style...or at least three finger style.

Angeline the Baker,
Her age is forty-three,
I buy her candy by the peck
But she won't marry me

Angeline the Baker,
Angeline I say,
You've left me alone
To weep and moan
And play on my old banjo...

Well, that is roughly how I have it on the wonderful live record by the late clawhammer soul man Pat Dunford...
