These Australian bush ballad/folk songs were originally done as an experiment to see if they would work in more of a bluegrass-style idiom. There are a lot of these tunes mainly of Irish or Scottish in origin that I hadn't heard played using this type of approach so I thought it might be fun to mess around with. I've actually got about 6 more arranged or conceptualized but I haven't got around to demo-ing them yet.

Fantastic version of a very grim song. Very up tempo and easier to listen to or dance to most versions I have heard in the past. As Steve Martin once said, "It's pretty hard to play sad music on bluegrass banjo." Brilliant playing and great lead breaks and dramatics, made me get out my copy of the Bushwackers song book.
