This song is a favorite of Charlie Acuff, an 84-year-old fiddle player who lives near Knoxville, Tenn. I heard him play and sing it in March 2008 at Breakin' Up Winter. Charlie is a cousin of the late great Roy Acuff.

Sounds great - I do not have time to listen to very many tunes on this site but I am glad I listened to this one!

Dean - Nice one ! ! You know, some people kinda agonize about hearing their right hand strike or brush the head when they play....... I've always liked a little right hand sound on some tunes. Second time through listening to Betsy towards the end I was pretty sure that I was hearing was your right hand ..... sounds a little like someone slow-flatfoot dancing in the same room.... I like it !
